I am the Tourism Director in Holly Springs Ms. On Dec 20, 1862 Gen Earl Van Dorn and 3000 Cavalry troop of which the 3,6,7 and 27 Texas Calvary took part, cut Gen Grant supply lines an made him pull out of Ms an also delayed the fall of Vicksburg. We are look for one or more of these units that would like to take part in a living history weekend and dedication of 8 markers telling the story of the raid the event will take part the 16-17 of April 2005.
