Here's a link to the Kaufman County men who served in Co. B, 6th Texas Cavalry. As you probably already know this unit became part of Sul Ross' Texas Brigade.

Here's a link to a historical abstract by Garvin Tate of Rockwall. Until recently his father lived across the alleyway from me. They are wonderful people.

Rockwall County was part of Kaufman County until 1873 when it became an independent county. There are stories that Jefferson Davis desired make the county his home after the War of Northern Aggression. The request to form Rockwall County was made twice to the Reconstruction Legislature. My brother has seen the original document and says it bears Davis' signature. I cannot independently verify that.
It is inspired coincidence that led me to this site. Today I was contacted via email by a lady who came into possession of an old burial policy from 1899 that has DJ Anderson's name on it. Says she got it from a metal detector club who found it and some other stuff in a buried metal box near an old barn in Rowlett. I hope to have the documents in my hands next week. I'll report back after I get it.
I live in Rockwall. We should meet.
Best,
