The book by Peter Cozzens on the battles of Iuka, Corinth, and Hatchie Bridge is entitled "The Darkest Days of the War," and was published by the University of North Carolina Press.

Ras Stirman's letters are at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and many of them were published several years ago. If my memory serves me correctly they appeared in the Arkansas Historical Quarterly.
