Gary - do you have anything on a H.B. Cleveland? He shows up in the OR's in a message dated October 26, 1862 from Indianola , Tex to D.D. Shea regarding the Union steamer Westfield. he states that "woodward, Captain Sheppard, and myself" went aboard to see what Commodore Renshaw's intentions were. He does not list a military rank, though ascribing one to Sheppard.
