I wouldn't be surprised. They were both at Indianola at the same time. I wonder where the records for the State troops are compiled? At least by unit? I also wonder if there is a list somewhere of State units that were later converted to CSA units? Perhaps they did their recruiting separately. The short recruiting cycle for some of these State units must have driven CSA commanders nuts. I found a long description by a "ground pounder" of a refusal of the a state unit to cross the line into Louisiana. Their commander was so mortified he offered his resignation - Magruder promoted him!
