Bourland's Regt, Doomas's Company
In Response To: Bourland's Rgt ()

David L. Haimerl,

I transcribed the two National Archives microfilm reels that contained the names of 820 soldiers in Bourland's Regiment, save the one page referenced as "J.W. Peebles Papers or Manuscript 3356" that showed no scribling on the page. If there had been slight scribbles, I think I could have read it, but the page showed no writing. There were several letters on those reels that took several hours to read, but we read and interpreted them.

The references to "J.W. Peebles or Manuscript 3356, June 22, 1864" on the microfilm reels were found in the records of:

Brown, P.P., in Capt. Anderson's Company
Hill, F.H., in Capt. Anderson's Company
Jackson, Alex, in Doomas’ Company
Merrill, Rumsey L., in Doomas’ Company
Merrill, W., in Doomas’ Company
Peebles, J.W., in Doomas’ Company
Renner, George, in Doomas’ Company
Wilhoit, Henry, in Doomas’ Company
Wilhoit, Isaac, in Doomas’ Company

This "Doomas" may have been Lewis D. Dumas of Grayson County. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
