I've just discovered, courtesy of a friend on the N&V board, that a relative, Solomon C. Gerow, served as a 2nd Lt in Co. K of McCulloch's 1st Texas Mounted Rifles.

I understand that after its term of enlistment was up, many reenlisted with the 8th. I do not know if SCG was one of these, but does anybody know where Co K was raised and where it served with the 1st?
