The 14th Tx Cavalry (Johnson's Brigade, 1st Regiment) became the 14th [Dismounted] Tx Cavalry and remained that the entire time in the war. They were very active during the war, including Chickamauga.

I don't know that they were a Battalion necessarily, but they certainly weren't the 33rd.
