I looked at the original pages of Capt. Chambers' Company "D" and it clearly states "Pvt. Granville A. Jones, age 41, Drafted." It should be noted that this roster had been recopied and the soldier immediately below was "age 32." It is probable that the clerk miscopied part of this record, a common mistake.

Chambers' men were enrolled July 15, 1863 at McKinney then were mustered at Camp Stonewall, Collin County.

Jerry Coffee is correct on all accounts.

By the way, I have not located the roster of Josiah Nichols' Compnay "A." Please keep your eyes peeled for any hint of this listing.
