At Sharpsburg in Sept 1862, the 1st, 4th and 5th Texas along with the 18th Georgia made up Woffords Brigade of Hoods Divisions. The 3rd Arkansas was in Mannings Brigade of Walkers Division along with 27th North Carolina, the 30th, 46th and 48th Virginia and a Virginia Battery commanded by Capt. French. By the time of Fredericksburg in Dec 1862, the ANV had reorganized and the 3rd was brigaded with the 1st, 4th and 5th Texas where it would remain throughout the war.
