And then add to the fact that after the surrender of the 6th Texas, that they were not allowed to get their winter coats or blankets and were left without food and water for three days after battle fatigue. They had the food and water plus clothing on hand, but were not allowed to get it by their captors...this was all from the memoirs of my G-Grandfather, Robert L. Chalk from Belton.
