No apology necessary. You've provided more help and direction than I ever anticipated. I didn't seem to be making much progress and could easily have dropped the search, let the fire go out, to use your very appropriate descriptor. If we continue to communicate, don't concern yourself with including too much detail. I've really enjoyed reading your responses.

I have had an abiding, if somewhat casual, interest in the Civil War (like thousands, perhaps millions, of others) for many years. I don't consider myself a really serious student even though I've toured all the major battlefields with Krick, Bearss, Gallagher, et al. Discovering the fact that my GGGF was an active participant has rekindled and heightened my interest, however.

I envy you going on that 7-8 day tour with Bearrs. Watch out for the swagger stick!
