Most of Captain E.R. Hawkins' Company came from the area of Red River County and Titus County. ..I'd guess that only a few resided in Hunt County.

Where was Deen's Station, Cherokee Nation, I.T.? ..This was where Hawkins' Company was located on Dec 31, 1861.

Below are the headers for the two militias that Hawkins raised that were copied from my vIIppA-73 to A-76 of my 1,014-page book.

Hawkins’ Fencibles, Major J. W. Whitfield, Wilson’s Creek, Missouri
Red River and Titus Counties, Aug-Dec 1861

Muster Roll of Captain Edwin R. Hawkins Company, Texas Fencibles of the Confederate States from the 30th day of November 1861 to the 31st day of December 1861. ..These soldiers were from Titus and Red River County, Texas and were given travel allowances for 450 miles since they were enrolled at Danigerfield [now Morris Co], Texas then mustered on August 13, 1861 in the Wilson’s Creek, Missouri area. (see Missouri map, vIp213.)

These soldiers were mustered into this company on Aug. 13, 1861 at Camp Wilson’s Creek, near Springfield, Polk Co MO, three days after the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, near Springfield, Greene Co MO by CSA Lt-Col. Dandridge McRae; at Pond Springs by CSA Col. W.R. Bradfute; at Camp Weightman, Washington Co AR by CSA Maj. J.W. Whitfield; at Flat Creek, near Christian, Stone Co MO by Col. James McIntosh; and at Camp Cooper, near Bentonville, Benton Co AR by CSA Col. James McIntosh.

The December 31, 1861 muster was conducted at Deen, Cherokee Nation, I.T by 2d Lt. J.W. Zachry.
