Hi Dave. I am a life-long resident of Brownwood in Brown County, Texas. I have 3 places, in Brownwood, that you will definitely want to visit for your research. One is our Brownwood Public Libary on Carnegie Street. They have a Locked Case which contains dozens of rare, old books on Brown County history. Another is the new Library Annex, which is located on Broadway, right across from the Brown County Courthouse, in what was in the old days the OO Saloon. They have most of the genealogical resources you need as well as cemetery records for the county. The other place you will want to visit is our Brown County Museum of History which is located in the big, old, historical Brown County Jail. It has an annex directly across the street from the old jail which contains many Brown County relics and personal possessions of early Brown County settlers.
