Thanks for the information. I stand to be corrected on the spelling - don't worry about being annoying I should have used spell check before I sent that last message. I am glad to have any little tid bit of information I can get on Sam Gray. One of these days I will get lucky and find out when he died. Someone out there knows that I'll bet. I do know in 1880 his wife was a widow. So he died sometime between 1864 and 1880. I probably can narrow it down a little bit more as I have date of birth of his children. So I suspect I might even come up with the county where he lived when youngest child was born. I just have to do some more research.
