Re: Co. B, 1st Texas State Cavalry

Thanks Mike for this link - the Gray's on this list do not appear to be the ones I am looking for. Sam Houston Gray and his wife, Aurelia P. Guthrie Gray had four children - two boys and two girls - boys were William Newton Gray and Sam Houston Gray, Jr. Girls were Letecia (I think) and Virginia Josephine Gray Cozby. Sam Houston Gray Jr was the youngest of the family. I need to look at his birthdate and see the year he was born. I know that in 1880 Aurelia was a widow. Her children were all still living at home. Then in 1900 census she is living with Sam Houston Gray, Jr. in or around Seymour, TX. Other kids are no longer living with her - Sam Houston Gray Jr. is now married.

So I suspect that the Gray's were living in Denton County TX by the time of 1870 - I will just have to check census in that area.

Thanks again.

Linda
