There were 2 Camp Davis' 1; Camp Davis Gillespie county,Tx (Frontier Post). 2; Camp Jefferson Davis Red River county,Tx north of Clarksville. This was found on Ron Brothers site, Confederate Soldiers of Northeast Texas. Reference List of Camps,Forts, and Posts in Texas 1861-1865, Adjutant General RG 401 Civil War records 1861-1865 Texas State Archives.
I have no idea how far it is between Red River Station and Clarksville but beleive it is about 100 miles. that could answer the 5 Days between the two.
