Looking for info on a g-g-g grandfather that served. Joel Blackwell, 18th Texas Calvary, Company B or Company D. Found a note on ancestry.com that he was killed in battle in Searcy City AK, and buried in Ft. Smith, AK, but have no docs to back this up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
