Interesting. G-G-G grandfather was born in 1822 and lived in Coryell for the 1860 Census. This must be him. However, my G-G grandfather Amos Jefferson would have been only 14 yrs old in when the war ended. Would he have been allowed to serve at that age? I believe that John Blackwell also had a brother named Amos Jefferson. The 1860 census shows two Amos Jefferson Blackwell's living in John Blackwell's residence. One is 9 yrs old and one is 33.
