It is unfortunate that Virgil White's Texas book does not have the units as his Georgia index did (published 1996). I find veterans and widows from the regiments that I am interested in by doing a whole lot of cross referencing, descendants, and pure luck. Several years ago I bought the Compiled Service Records (five microfilm rolls) from the National Archives so I would have them to refer to. It cost about $150.00 at the time but well worth it. Now it is much more expensive.

Thanks to all. If one of you Texas gentlemen get froggy and index these folks by unit I will buy a copy.
