Thank you for answering after my snide remark. No excuses, but try to understand that I've been working night and day on the next edition of my 1,046-page book that addresses the last 1-1/2 years of the War on the North and West Frontier. And by the way, about 70 percent of my book is from handwritten records.

This "George L. Cain b-1847 MS" is the one who interests me because he was probably one of the 20-30 kids who were arrested ... some of these kids may been on patrol on the North and West Frontier, AND that's why it is so important that I learn about his service during the War. Keep in mind that I am studying another 486 named deserters (total of over 2,000 were languishing) who pooled in Collin County. Yes, study deserters mixed with innocent kids in these groups. This is tough, tedious work and I ask your help.

Obviously, this George L. Cain b-1847 MS is not the son of Thomas Mabry Cain b-1833 TN, but he is probably closely related. Please keep your eye peeled for him and let me know what you find.

one "George L. Cane b-1851 MS" found in the 1870 Hunt Co TX cen p317, in school, P.O. Greenville ... maybe he decided to go back to school and he either lied about his age or the census taker assumed his age.

one G.L. Cain b-1848 MS MS MS; Z. (fe) b-1855 TX ... plus 3 small ch in 1880 Rains Co TX cen p147.
