It's possible that the rails that were sent to Shreveport were used on the CSS Missouri. The ironclad, built in Shreveport, was reported to be armored with railroad T Rails. Rails from a Beaumont to Sabine Pass spur line were used in the construction of Fort Griffen, where Dick Dowling repulsed the Union Navy.
