George, You describe Company K, Chisum's Regiment, 2nd Partison Rangers (Stones) and then the 12th Cavalry Regiment (Parsons) organized Aug 1861. I know the records reflect something like this, but G.Barton Stone was very busy at that time organizing the 6th Texas Cavalry Regimment which he led until May 1862 when Sul Ross was elected commander. My understanding is that Stone then went back and organized a battalion or regiment and this is when he became associated with the 2nd Partison Ranger Name. In studying the 6th Texas the 2nd Partison is more attached to Stone than the 6th. Can you shed some light for this old man in the dark?
