Re: Co K Hoods Brig- 5th Texas Inf CSA, John T Tur

Well I know our Cemetery is there:

&
http://freepages.military.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~polkcountytxconnections/CivilWarVets.html

But I still cannot find a Birth, Death, or a Military Record on John Turner accept his Headstone? I've searched for 10 yrs. as well as a few other family members.

What I do know is his Grave says:

John T Turner 1846-1910
Pvt. Co K Hood's Brig 5th Texas Inf. CSA

He was a Outlaw after the Army was over. He killed a Mississippi Sheriff over a dispute & fled to Oklahoma "No Mans Land" Indian Territory for several years until he poped back up in Texas & Settled in Livingston, Polk, Tx with all the RR rights & Tree rights from there to Louisiana. They had a Mill or something? That's it.

Now I need to find out his family?
