William J. Daniell, age 26, enlisted as a Private in Captain William L. Foster's Company Texas Mounted Riflemen* March 27, 1862 at Belmont by W. L. Foster for 3 years or the war, recorded on February 28,1863 as "On duty in Q. M. Depart.," Teamster, later on the end of February, 1864 absent " . . .in pursuit of a deserter," no further records [Note: This was the last surviving company muster roll, many of the muster rolls record as the 32nd]

* This company subsequently became Company D, 36th Regiment Texas Cavalry.

The 36th (also called the 32nd and Woods') Regiment Texas Cavalry was organized June 1, 1862, with ten companies, A to K.
