I have reviewed my rosters and the soldiers records and have not found a Zacheriah. There are some Townsends in the 3rd and 27th Texas Cavalrys. I also checked the 6th Texas Cavalry Battalion, with no results. Let us know what you have that puts him in the 6th Texas. I am on the road, but will check the Kirkland book on the 6th to see if he picked up a Townsend or Townson, in a couple of days. The Soldiers and Sailors Records at the National Park Service did not have a Zacheriah either. You can look at the 6th Texas Cavalry Regiment Rosters at the website below. Will keep looking.
