Re: Co I 25th Calvery Regiment Texas

My grt-grt-grt-grdfather was also in this same company and to try to follow this unit was almost impossible to follow after battle of Arkansas Post because of conslidation into Army of Tennessee. But if you think he may have died in so other part of Texas, you may be right. Since each man usually provided his own horse, weapon, knife, etc. when the 24th @ 25th were dismounted the horses were returned to Texas. He may of have been part of the men that were detailed to return the horses and not with the rest when they were captured at Arkansas Post. Have you checked the Texas Veterns Cemetery in Austin or Texasa State Archives ? I have a book of Texas Confederate deaths in Union Hospitals & Prisons and his name is not listed. Check the Texas Archives !! Wish I could be more help--Russell Jordan
