Thanks for your help. Our information on him is so vague so it's no telling really what happened.
I've seen on some family trees that they have him buried in Liberty Co at McGinnis, no marker etc
visible if that should be correct. My grandfather was the one who told me he died on way home and
where he was suppose to be buried. His brother John Louis Tarkington did make it home and lived
many years after.
