Crockett Boone, paroled at San Antonio

I have recently looked at an index sent to me by another Boone researcher concerning Crockett Boone of the 15th Arkansas. One item is a parole certificate, dated Oct. 16, 1865, "Headquarters Cav. Forces Mil. Div. of the Gulf," San Antonio, Texas, saying he was a prisoner of war, and signed the roll as C. Boone, Franklin Co., Ark. I assume he had been a prisoner of war for sometime, but what prison was he kept in? It is curious as he was taken prisoner at Vicksburg and paroled July 9, 1863. Where was he from July 9, 1863 until Oct. 16, 1865? Does anyone know about the "Headquarters Cav. Forces Mil. Div. of the Gulf." Any information about Confederate POWs paroled at San Antonio will be appreciated.
