I am descended from David Nelson Henry, the husband of Nancy Caroline Rowe, who was the dughter of James Rowe (my third Great Grandfather) of San Jacinto fame. David was born in Robertson, TN in 1836 and in 1860 was living in Travis Cty, Texas before marrying Nancy. I have heard family stories that a couple of men in the Henry family served in the Confederate military, but have no evidence except that there is a muster entry for a Private David N. Henry, G Company, 16th Regiment (Fluornoy's), walker's 3rd Texas Corps. There is no pension record, however, and without more concrete evidence linking the muster entry to my ancestor. I would be most obliged for any assistance possible; as I currently reside in Ohio, it is difficult to do an "on the ground" search.
