Thank you, everyone, for your help in focusing my search. It seems pretty airtight now, that Grea Grandpa David Nelson Henry and his brother, Thomas Jefferson Henry, both served in Company G of the 16th Texas. I retrieved the service records from FootNote and the birthdates matched, David did, indeed, move to Panola County (where he married Nancy Caroline Rowe, daughter of San Jacinto participant James Rowe), and it appears that the family stories of more than one Henry boy being soldiers in the CSA appear to be true. With my other Great Grandpa, Asa Bryan (32nd Alabama), that's three ancestors who stood up, even if it was a lost cause. I am a step closer to a successful Sons of the Confederacy application, I believe. Thank you George Martin and Johnny Reb.
