Erastus Blue - well documented as being killed in the Elm Creek Raid on 13 Oct 1864.
David Bunch (b~1812), lived just south of Whitesboro, Grayson County from about 1851-1864?
David had the following sons who may have been old enough to have been in the war:
William W. Bunch born about 1845
Archey Henry Bunch born about 1848
Isaac/Ike Bunch born about 1850 (too young?)
David Bunch's oldest daughter Eliza Jane was married to Erastus Blue. They are listed in the 1860 census for Cooke Co, but Jane Blue is listed on the indigent families list in Grayson Co. on 17 Feb 1864. After the war, Jane remarried to John L. Jones and can be found in the 1870 census again in Cooke Co.
David Bunch was first married in Hamilton County, TN to Lucy Roberts. He may have had another wife before his last wife Elender Kays who was the widow of Meredith Blue who died in 1855. Meredith Blue was the older brother of Erastus Blue. David Bunch is my 3g-grandmother Jane's brother, and Lucy Roberts was Jane's niece. David Bunch is somehow related to the Howeth family, following them from Tennessee to Rusk County, Texas and the to Grayson County.
There is also a James Bunch listed on the indigent list for Grayson County on 13 Feb 1865. I don't think this is David (the name James David shows up in the family), but is a James Bunch out of Missouri that was a guerilla and known to have been in the county during the war. I am in contact with a researcher of this line.
