David's two oldest children with Lucy Roberts were Elizabeth Jane and Mary Ann, confirmed by a family story from another descendant of Mary and JFM Myers, and Jacob Roberts' will "the heirs of Lucy Bunch", Lucy confirmed to be a daughter of Jacob Roberts and Elizabeth Grove(s) by one of Lucy's brother's Goodspeed biography.

The 1860 census for David Bunch incorrectly identifies Suel and David as "Blue" instead of Bunch. I found the Grayson County probate record showing that Meredith Blue had died by early 1855, confirming that David Bunch is the father of Suel and David Jesse. I also have a copy of a will confirming that David Bunch was married to Elender Kays Blue a few months before David Jesse was born, verifying that Elender was his mother (and younger brother Asa's).

Check the 1840 census for District 2 in Hamilton County, Tennessee. David Bunch (and his oldest two children) is listed right after his father-in-law Jacob Roberts, the William Roberts listed earlier are my 3g-randparents. Jacob's and my line moved to SW Missouri in 1842, but it looks like David Bunch followed John Howeth to Rusk County, Texas about 1843, joining John's brother Thomas Howeth.

David Bunch is somehow related to John Howeth. Suel is a Howeth family name - there was a Suel Howeth in Texas in the same era, and Sewell Howeth was the apparent grandfather of John and Thomas Howeth. I believe that John Howeth was either David Bunch's uncle or half-brother, or that David Bunch had an intermediate wife who was a Howeth.

After being injured at Wilsons Creek (MSG), my g-g-grandfather William Mattison Roberts/Robbirds/Robirds was in Grayson County, Texas for a while with his uncle.

David and Elender sold most of their substantial land holdings south of Whitesboro in 1864. It is claimed David served in the Confederate Army, but I haven't found anything yet.
