My GGrandmothers widows pension was $9.00 per month paid 4 times per year.

She also received a land grant of 1280 acres from the Texas land board. The land grants where a scam, the land was in far west Texas and very few of the women where able to homestead the land, it was bought up by the same people who where on the land board for $50.00 per tract.
