I'm looking for any information on George W. Stidham, who served as a lieutenant colonel for the First Texas State Cavalry and with Bourland's Texas Cavalry, according to the Online Handbook of Texas. There's to be a dedication of the Confederate graves at Hopewell Cemetery, Swan, Smith County, this weekend, and the organizer is looking for any further verification of his service.
