Thanks for the information. I have 3 of his papers, so far all I can find.

One which may be when enlisted, no date but some card numbers, 50358674 under #1
and on #2 line near the end of the line is 9033. I wonder if it really goes with the other
number just to long.

Then the other 2 are on cards that say "Regiment Return" . One dated Jan 1865 sick in hosptial
at Hempstead and the other dated Feb 1865 absent, sick at hospital, Hempstead. He died in Feb 1865 at
Hempstead, but no other records as to exact date or where they may have buried him. It is my
understanding records etc all gone. A cemetery at Hempstead once had buried dead but long ago all plowed
over. No markers other than ust a few, union soilders.

You know I never really cared for History in school, but when I started doing family research, I found
I really enjoyed learning about the civil war etc.
