My Great Grand Uncle, Elijah Lindsey enlisted in the spring of 1862 in Company C, 17th Texas Cavalry (Moore's Regiment) as a Private. He was from Smith County, Texas. I know he fought at the Battle of Arkansas Post on January 11, 1863. I am reasonably sure that he was not captured at that battle, as most of the unit was. I believe that he managed to escape capture, but I lost contact of his whereabouts after that. Could you help me?
