The men who compose this company are refugees from Arkansas Post who made their escape about the date of the fall of said place. They were original members of Company B, C, & D of the 17th Texas Cavalry consolidated by order of Lt. Gen. E. Smith. The regiment is drilling daily but are without arms or equipment.
