Myself and other Firefighters recently came across the graveside in question earlier this month while fighting a wildfire. The landowner has protected the site from damage and being neglected for many years. There are apx 8 other unmarked graves in the same area. Story is that they are former slaves and freedmen.
There are crapemyrtles, oaks and cedars there well over 130 y/o.
That is the extent of my knowledge of the site. And the landowner, although a good man, didn't seem to want alot of attention to his place.
