Gary- You and Jim have opened up a gold mine for me. The knowledge and generosity of the people on these forum cotinues to amaze me.

James Alfred's father had wanderlust. His first child was born in Mt. Pleasant TX. His third in Mississippi. James the fourth in Maury Co. Tn. and the nineth and last child in Bell Co. TX. Pity his wife Eva Porter who had nine children in three states from 1832 to 1852.

I am trying to get all the Holcombe's that fought on both sides of the WBTS. You two have given me a lot of valuable information.
