Thx Gay, however I saw this site some time ago. I understand that Company D. of Gould's command was attached with Forrest at Donelson, however too many officers of Gould's unit are showing up at Camp Chase and Johnson's Island for it to be just one company. There appears to be NO early history of this unit available. The officers who were captured at Donelson would later be exhanged according to the Dix-Hill Cartel agreement in September of 1862 and would arrive at Vicksburg, MS. However, some things are NOT adding up in a historical sense.
