Editor's note: Â Captain James M. Roark has 123 cards and documents in his compiled records, most from Texas. He was a Brevet 2d Lt in 1861, who was elected Captain at the "ripe old age" of 24 in 1862 and served in the same company throughout the war. He was at Battery Green, Galveston, Tx. when the war ended. Most documents are from the time he was AAQM at Fort Clark. His home of record was Parker County, Tx.
