I'm hoping some of you folks out there can help me. My great-grandfather, William Nunn of Patrick County reported for duty in 1861 with the 51st Virginia Infantry, at least he is on the regiments list but he is also listed under the 24th virginia regiment along with his brother Edward Nunn from Patrick country. I'm a U.S. History teacher for Mooresville High School in N.C.. I would like to personalize the Civil War for my students. Also, what major battles would my g-grandfather have been involved in.
