Records of the 2nd Ohio Cavalry cite it as Samaria Church. National Archives Guide Index refers to Smith's Store, atlas 92:1, sect. 1 (NE by E of Malvern Hill and SW by S of Long Bridge, lower left center), skirmish near, June 15, 1864. Dyer's Compendium calls it 'Smith's Store near St. Peter's Church'.

National Archives Guide Index refers to Saint Peter's Church, atlas 92:1, sect. 1 (SW of White House Station, upper center of plate), combats or skirmishes at Black Creek or Tunstall's Station and White House or, June 21, 1864.

The fighting of June 24th is cited by the National Archives Guide Index as Saint Mary's Church, atlas 17:1 (E by N of Malvern Hill, left center), combat June 24, 1864.
