Question for anyone who might know something about this unit. I have seen official reports stating this battery was captured with Walker's artillery column at Appomattox Station on April 8, 1865. I have also seen material saying the unit was disbanded near Lynchburg during the week of Lee's surrender.Would anyone happen to know the actual story of this? My research shows the unit as being assigned to Lt. Col. John Floyd King's Battalion near Richmond in March, 1865 and departing with Walker's column. Any info would be appreciated.
