Forgive my barging in, but the subject of G.W. Custis Lee always captures my attention. Some of this is new to me: his having visited a lady in a hospital, his father hearing of it, and a heated discussion afterward. Where was this information obtained, please? I ask because I had always read that although interested in women, Custis held himself aloof, and was actually quite diffident, awkward, self-conscious, and shy.
