Re: George Washington Custis Lee

Forgive me, I don't wish to intrude, but have found your comments fascinating. I became interested in the Lee family while working as a docent at Arlington House in the 1970s, and found it odd that there was so little information, at that time, about "Custis." One would expect a handsome, well-educated young man from a fine family to marry, especially since so many thousands of young men perished in the war. No doubt marriageable men were at a premium. Curious! Now back in Arlington, I have renewed my interest in the family, and was searching for information on GWC Lee when I stumbled upon this site. I appreciate the books mentioned in these posts, as well as your comments, and will look forward to reading them.
