I assume you have Thomas Luster's military bio which is necessary to procure a VA tombstone.

None-the-less, I copy.

Thomas Luster, age 22, enlisted as a Private in Captain S. T. Dunwoody's Company Tennessee Volunteers** March 19, 1862 at Midway, Tennessee for a period of 12 months, appointed 4th Corporal June 16, 1862, reduced to ranks December 1, 1862, captured in hospital at Vicksburg, Mississippi July 4, 1863, paroled July 15th, no further records

**This company subsequently became Company H, 31st Tennessee Infantry, re-designate the 39th Tennessee Infantry on June 6, 1863. The regiment was mounted Nov/Dec 1863, and served as cavalry thereafter

The regiment was reassigned to BGen. John Crawford Vaughn's East Tennessee Cavalry brigade November 1863. Took part in Longstreet's Knoxville campaign. Later served in Lt. Gen. Jubal Early's 1864 Shenandoah campaign. Was in SW Virginia when Lee surrendered, thereafter escorting Jefferson Davis from Charlottesville to Washington, Georgia where they surrendered about May 5, 1865.
