This is great information............I had some clippings from VMI and some information but not the detail you have provided as to his military service. Thank you so much for this information. I had no idea he was attached to D.H. Hill's staff as a courier nor the detail as to his military service. The family's history (I have a letter to my grandmother form a great aunt detailing returning to VMI as an instructor and referring to the call out of the cadets during Hunter's raid and had questions whether that was accurate and he participated.
