I was not able to find much on Carter G. Goad. He does not have a compiled service record with the 50th Va., or in the unfiled slips of Confederates in the National Archives. His 1886 pension application says he was wounded at Winchester, no date given; but he says he was in the 50th Va, serving under Capt. Baldwin. If that is accurate then the date of his wound could have been 19 September 1864, when Early's army was defeated. What source do you have that he served under Poague?
